Snapdragon is a 60ft x 10ft Liverpool Boat built in 2007 and it is currently moored at the TingDene Marina in Caversham Lakes
The boat was bought as a Sailaway Additions lined in maple and cherry wood and was fitted out professionally by tradesmen.
The layout of the boat is as follows:
Stern Deck (8ft) with gas lockers either side of a central double door into the Kitchen.
There are three steps down into the Kitchen (12ft) which has two large cupboards either side of the stairs, one of which stores the calorifier and travel power system for cruising. The kitchen units are white with a solid oak top. The kitchen is L-shaped and has a full size domestic gas cooker, full size sink & fridge freezer. There is room for a table to sit and eat along the other wall.
Corridor with bathroom (6ft) to the left. The Bathroom has a full sized double end bath (all the better to share!!) and a large sink unit. The boat also has an environmentally friendly eco-composting toilet which requires emptying 2-3 times per year. All the waste material breaks down to compost and can be used in a domestic garden!! This saves money on pumping out fees.
The corridor leads to the living room (16ft) and is fully insulated & carpeted in wool. The living room houses a stovax stove (multifuel - wood & coal burning) on a Welsh slate surround. There is also a side hatch which opens fully on the port side.
Finally, through the living room is a double bedroom (10ft) which is large enough to house a full size double bed, 2 wardrobes and 2 chests of drawers. This is the only room in the boat which has port holes. The rest of the boat has large windows with the kitchen having the largest of all the windows. The bedroom has double hardwood doors leading out to the front deck (4ft). We've paid to have extra lockers put at the bow and we have a bow thruster tube in place if you should wish to have a bow thruster system fitted.
The boat is being sold with a few outstanding items still to be finished off. The kitchen floor is still to be laid. I have all the flooring which is a dark solid wood (which cost about £44/sq ft). The bathroom wall is not up yet and the bath requires a bath panel. Finally, the fireplace needs grouting. That's it...then the boat will be complete and will make a great live aboard or very comfortable weekend cruising boat.
The boat has a valid Boat Safety Certificate for the next 3 years and comes with all safety equipment such as fire extinguisher (x3) & fire blanket as required by the certificate. I have all the proofs of expenditure for all the boat's fixtures and fittings, plus all the operating manuals too.

This is a unique opportunity to buy one of only two widebeam boats built by the original Sea Otter team, specialising in prestige aluminium boats crafted to last a lifetime. Built in 2004 to the original purchasers requirements this Sea Otter is in very good condition and would now cost around 80,000 to build new. It benefits from a number of expensive extras including bow thruster, inverter, battery charger, shore power connection, Webasto Diesel fired central heating; TV aerial and satellite dish (detachable) with booster, and radio/ CD player with built-in sound system. The engine also has a feed to the calorifier to give domestic hot water when cruising. When in connected to on-shore power there is a mains immersion heater to take over this function. The boat was lifted summer 2009, scrubbed and blacked. The engine compartment is immaculate and benefits from a recent service.
All Sea Otter boats are made from the same marine grade aluminium alloy, offering it's owner strength and durability as well as minimal maintenance. It is a material commonly used where strength and longevity are required. Aluminium alloy is a material favoured by the majority of small commercial craft builders, this includes the RNLI lifeboats which prove their ruggedness on a daily basis. Buying a Sea Otter means that your never have the expensive burden of annual hauling out and re-blacking or changing anodes.

The boat benefits from a large stern perfect when cruising with friends and with plenty of seating. Stepping inside there is a permanent double berth with three large cupboards and storage under the bed. Passing through from rear to front, the shower-room houses a full-size shower, sink and macerator toilet (with hold capacity gauge). The galley is well fitted with black granite effect worktop and 4-burner hob, grill and oven then a 12v full-size Shoreline LEC Fridge to finish. Again, plenty of cupboard space.
The dinette sits four and can be easily folded down to form a double berth. Another separate seating area provides a single-berth and provides a spacious saloon for television and further storage. Step out to the large bow which houses three further exterior storage compartments, where two large gas bottles are stored plus cruising equipment, including windlass, anchor, mooring pins and mallet.
This is a fabulous boat and an ideal live-aboard. Lying in Windsor the present mooring may be negotiable if required. |

Layout:
Large open rear deck with seating area with original boatmans cabin to the stern with single berth, seating areas and storage cupboards with two portholes and two arch top windows.
Forward from the rear deck leads down into the living quarters with raised dinette area with ample storage underneath with fitted cupboards under the gunnels. A mixture of arch top windows, portholes and pigeon box skylight.
From here step down into the Galley 6ft x 13ft with modern cupboards, gas stove, fridge, stainless sink and drainer with lots of work surface area and cupboard space.
Leading from the Galley into a large saloon area 13 ft x 13ft. Contains solid fuel stove on tiled hearth and fitted carpet. Fitted shelving areas and room for plenty of furniture, large double glazed skylights and solid brass portholes.
This leads into a corridor with bathroom on one side, the bathroom consists of a bath, modern basin and vacuum cassette toilet, fully tiled and storage space with double glazed skylight.

Corridor then leads into the Master Bedroom 13ft x 13ft with large wardrobe, king sized bed, carpet, chest of draws and double glazed skylights and solid brass portholes.
Leading into the second bedroom with fitted single berth, wardrobe, shelving and a good sized seating area. Also contains wooden planked flooring and double glazed opening hatch onto bow deck.
Vrouwe Johanna is a large, light barge with lots of character and she could easily be rigged with mast and sails again! It has both 240 V electrics supplied from both Shoreline hook-up and Victron Phoenix mulitplus 3000w invertor with 70 amp charger and there is 24 V lighting throughout barge. We currently also have a 3 KVA portable generator and large solar panel with charging regulator. She has newly made curtains to all windows. She has large outside deck areas with railings around her, ideal for socialising. The hull has been completely doubled below the waterline in recent years and in good condition
We have lived on her and cruised her on the River Thames, she currently is on mooring near Reading Berkshire. |
